Prog Rock has been around a very long time and by now I had assumed I might have experienced most of what was on offer. However the wonderful thing about prog is the way it continues to jump forwards breaking boundaries, last year we had those wonderful Mongolian Metallers The HU and this year we have something that is a fusion, straying into South American, jazz and eastern folk regions- Mozaick by Morpheus Project. The driver of the project is Mustafa Khetty and it has taken him three months to produce Mozaick incorporating 30+ instruments and a variety of musicians performing live. I could not describe the variety of themes that flow through the piece, if you experienced the early incarnations of prog from the likes of Eno, Pink Floyd, Soft Machine and The Nice you will know how music can inspire and intrigue taking you off on a trip. This is one for devotees of Prog we can share the radio edit at 5:38 mins is awesome (the full fat album track comes in at over eight and a half minutes), none the less it really needs a long cool drink and a quiet room for the full experience (pretty much like first hearing Meddle)
